Therefore, the box generally has higher technical requirements.

Due to the structural characteristics of the machine and the different functions of the box in the machine, the box parts have a variety of different structural types, and their common characteristics are: complex structural shape, thin and uneven box walls, cavity-shaped interior; Higher plane and hole system are required, and there are more fastening threaded holes, etc.

The blanks of box parts are usually made of cast iron. Gray cast iron has good wear resistance, shock absorption, good casting performance and cutting performance, the price is also relatively cheap. Sometimes in order to reduce weight, the blanks box is cast with non-ferrous metal alloys  (such as boxes on aero-engines, etc.). In single-piece small batch production, welding blanks are sometimes used in order to shorten the production cycle. The casting method of the blank depends on the type of production and the size of the blank.
